INTRODUCTION
Keeping North Stonington Affordable (KNSA) is a non-profit organization dedicated to expanding affordable housing opportunities while preserving the unique character of North Stonington, Connecticut. The objective of this project was to establish a professional online presence that would educate community members about the organization's mission, showcase ongoing initiatives, share important updates, and encourage public involvement. The website was designed to communicate KNSA's vision in a clear and accessible way while creating opportunities for visitors to learn about affordable housing challenges, stay informed about community projects, and support the organization's efforts. A strong focus was placed on transparency, accessibility, and community engagement to help build trust and awareness around KNSA's mission.
DESIGN & DEVELOPMENT
The project began with a complete UI/UX design process in Figma, where the website structure, content hierarchy, and user journey were carefully planned before development. The goal was to create a platform that would make information easy to access while allowing the organization to manage updates independently.
The website was developed in Squarespace with fully responsive layouts across desktop, tablet, and mobile devices. Dedicated Projects and News sections were implemented, allowing the KNSA team to publish updates, share community initiatives, and keep residents informed without requiring ongoing developer support. A donation system was integrated directly into the website, including custom donation pathways and QR code functionality that provides supporters with a simple and convenient way to contribute to the organization's mission.
RESULTS & IMPACT
The completed website provided KNSA with a centralized digital platform that strengthens awareness, community engagement, and fundraising efforts. Residents can now easily learn about the organization's goals, explore ongoing projects, access important updates, and contribute directly through online donations. By combining informative content, user-friendly navigation, and integrated donation functionality, the platform serves as both an educational resource and a fundraising tool. The result is a scalable online presence that helps KNSA expand its reach, increase community involvement, and support its long-term mission of making housing more accessible for current and future residents of North Stonington.
